Make plans to attend some of the following popular upcoming events in Cleveland this year (and enjoy comfortable transportation in a party bus rental by Mr. A-1 Limo) and explore more of what our city has to offer.
1. Brite Winter
February in northeast Ohio might be chilly, but it’s also when one of the hottest Cleveland events occurs: Brite Winter, an outdoor festival held on the West Bank of the Flats. Scheduled for February 25, 2023, the music, art, food, and beer celebration includes musical performances by local and national acts from all genres, local food trucks, and warming tents featuring the work of local artists. The festival grounds also feature bonfires and igloos to match the “fire and ice” theme and allow attendees to warm up.
Tickets for this upcoming event in Cleveland start at $5.
2. Dyngus Day
If you’ve never experienced the Polish-American tradition known as Dyngus Day, you don’t want to miss this upcoming event in Cleveland. Held on Easter Monday (April 10, 2023), Dyngus Day is a celebration of Polish food, music, and beer. Take a polka dancing lesson, enjoy pierogies and Polish sausage, and experience the Miss Dyngus Day pageant, where young women and men compete in a series of unusual challenges for the honor.
The day finishes with a nighttime parade featuring marching accordionists and a pierogi float. The family-friendly gathering is one of Cleveland’s most popular events.
3. Cleveland Asian Festival
Just a few blocks east of downtown Cleveland, the AsiaTown neighborhood is home to the Cleveland Asian Festival, scheduled for May 20 and 21, 2023. Enjoy food and entertainment, including Polynesian hula dancing, samurai fighting, belly dancing, and events like the annual sumo wrestling and sushi eating contests. Admission to this family-friendly Cleveland event is free.
4. Parade the Circle
After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Cleveland Museum of Art is bringing back its signature event, Parade the Circle, in June 2023. Wade Circle transforms into a European-style market with craft and food vendors. Still, the main attraction is the ongoing display of art, which includes everything from puppets and costumed dancers to elaborate floats. The free event is unique and unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.
5. Cleveland Garlic Festival
Shaker Square, just west of downtown Cleveland, is home to the annual garlic festival. Northeast Ohio farmers grow more than 300 varieties of garlic, which they show off during the two-day event scheduled for August 26 and 27, 2023. The event includes live music and entertainment, cooking demonstrations, the crowning of Miss Garlic, and of course, a wide variety of foods featuring garlic as the star ingredient.
The family-friendly event features plenty of activities for the kids, including a pedal tractor maze and kids’ cooking classes. Several local Ohio breweries will also be at the festival, allowing you to try some unique craft brews, including garlic beer. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and kids under 12.
6. Cleveland Oktoberfest
Now expanded to two weekends (September 1-4 and 8-9), the Cuyahoga Fairgrounds transforms into Bavarian Germany with Oktoberfest. There’s plenty of beer and German and Polish food to enjoy, but the most popular event of Oktoberfest is by far the Weiner Dog Races. Attendees cheer on their favorite dachshunds in the annual race toward victory.
Oktoberfest offers sensational entertainment, including musical performances, beer stein-holding contests, dancing, and more. The family-friendly event also has plenty of activities for the kids, including marionette shows and bouncy houses.
